U.S. National Championship Predictions: Part Three

Continuing what was started in part one and part two, the Kubb On staff continues to break down the bracket and make some predictions about the U.S. National Kubb Championship. They looked at a portion of the bracket and guessed who they believe will advance to Sunday. For reference, check out the official groups and bracket.

Kubb On would like to remind everyone that this is all just for fun. The staff doesn’t claim to know every team or every player, but it’s too intriguing not to at least speculate.

This bracket could feature two teams who have both previously won the championship not once but twice, Kubbunited.com (2014 and 2015) and the Kubbsicles (2012 and 2013). Other big names include the Kubb Squirrels (T-5), Skübby Düdes, Skol and Team Ragnarok (All group winners). Don’t sleep on Eau Claire locals Tyr’s Tre who won the very tough silver bracket just last year.

    • Pure Michigan

Pure Michigan is a new team to the U.S. Championship but not to the kubb world. They placed high at the U.S. Kubb Open (4th) and Great Lakes Championship (2nd) last year and the Ohio Kubb Championship (4th) this year. If you haven’t seen or heard of these guys from Pure Michigan yet, get ready because they are primed for a great run at this years championship.

Other Teams to Watch: Tyr’s Tre, MPG Kubboom

    Potential Match-Up to Watch

    • Kubb Squirrels versus Tyr’s Tre

A possible rematch of two very good teams but this time it’s all for Sunday. The Kubb Squirrels were able to win 2-1 last year in the round of 64 and Tyr’s Tre will be looking for revenge. If you’re a kubb fan and this match-up happens, this will be one you won’t want to miss.

Other Possible Match-Up to Watch: Skol versus Pure Michigan

So what do you think?  We want to hear your opinions. Please feel free to discuss what you think in the comments below.

Excellent break down here…we all know what Kubb United brings to the table…IMO the favorite in this Quarter, extremely tough to beat, so many skills. Kubbsicles will be eager to prove they still are Championship caliber. KU-Kubbsicles match will be must see Sunday viewing. Add in some proven teams like Skol, Kubb Squirrels, Pure Michigan, Tyr’s Tre, and MPG Kubboom. This group shapes up for fierce competition Sunday morning!!

I think this is the “Group of Death” this year for Sunday, unless we get some interesting surprises elsewhere.
