The Kubb On staff attempted to predict who’d make it to Sunday in the 2017 U.S. National Kubb Championship. How well did they do? Here’s a look at how the predictions held up against the final results. The actual results are shown with the staff’s percentage of correctness in parenthesis. If you’d like to revisit the original predictions, you can do so in part one, two, three, and four.
Quarter one
- Damage Incorporated (100%)
- Kubb Life (40%)
- Kubbstaches (80%)
- The Northmen (40%)
Quarter two
- Redheadsched (20%)
- Two Beardos and a Weirdo (100%)
- Chaska Meets Erjo16 (100%)
- Tad Kubbler (40%)
Quarter three
- KubbUnited.com (100%)
- Skol (100%)
- Kubb Squirrels (100%)
- Kubbsicles (100%)
Quarter four
- The Ringers (100%)
- Kalifornia Kubbers (0%)
- The Team Formally Known as Kubb Kitties (0%)
- Kubbanite (80%)
So in general, a pretty solid set of predictions. Quarter three was predicted 100 percent correct, but quarter four proved to be much more of a surprise. Kalifornia Kubbers and The Team Formally Known as Kubb Kitties were the only two teams that made it to Sunday that weren’t predicted by at least one Kubb On staff member. On average, the staff predicted 68.75 percent correct. Individually, voter four was slightly above average with 75 percent accuracy.
Congratulations to all of the teams who competed hard Saturday and Sunday. Read more about the tournament in the recap.

The Kalifornia Kubbers run was pretty awesome. Correct me if any of this is inaccurate but they finished fourth in their Saturday group, worked an up hill battle of losing every first game in the Saturday elimination matches, took a game from Kubbanite, and ended tied for 9th. Hell yeah!
I totally agree! When I checked in with them earlier in the day, they were talking about their struggles in group play and when I saw they had made Sunday at dinner, I was pleasantly surprised. Way to bring it, Cali!
The entire experience way exceeded my expectations and my expectations were very high. The welcoming and support that our entire group received from the community and players (both casual and elite) was awesome. I was blown away by the overall play and the top teams were inspiring. The tournament was top notch and very professional. Although the bar is high and we have a lot of work to do, Kali will be coming back next year with a vengeance!
Sincerely,
