LINDSBORG, Kan. — The sixth annual Midsummer’s Festival Kubb Tournament will be held on June 17, 2017. This tournament will be part of the Lindsborg, or “Little Sweden USA,” Midsummer’s Festival and takes place at Heritage Square South Park.
Teams must have two to six players and the $25 team registration fee also includes admission to the Old Mill Museum. The tournament format will consist of four 50 minute rounds. After that, the top four teams will move on to the championship bracket.
First, second, and third will win custom Swedish painted trophies — a king for first place and kubbs for second and third. There will also be a custom painted spirit stick awarded to the team outside of the top three that displays the most team spirit and enthusiasm throughout the day.
Last year’s tournament saw 15 teams. Tournament Director Craig Lofton expects to see that many or more this year. The Killer B’s (Brend Heizelman, Bill Olson) took home last year’s top prize.

This really is a hidden gem of a tournament, festival and great small town community. Over the course of my kubb travels I have visited quite a few Scandinavian festivals and Lindsborg really stands out for hospitality and is absolutely a place kubb road warriors and people looking for a great family destination should consider. Goofy Kubbers 1.6 plan to make the trip again in 2018. Hats off to Craig, Corey, Roger, Callie and everyone in Lindsborg Kubb Club that is keeping kubb active in Kansas.
