ELVERSON, Penn. — With the East Coast Kubb Championship moving to North Carolina for 2019 and 2020, Pennsylvania didn’t want to be left without a tournament and so the first Pennsylvania Kubb Championship was announced. Like the previous East Coast Championship, the tournament will take place at Livingood Park in Elverson on Saturday, Aug. 17. The tournament will use Country Kubb sets and the U.S. National rules will be in effect. In addition to the standard rules, the neighbor rule and the ability for the offense to remove the center stake after inkasted kubbs are stood up will be used.
The East Coast iteration of this tournament drew 20 teams last year and this year they are looking for a similar amount. There are 16 teams currently registered and you can check out the official team list to see currently registered teams.
There will be meet-ups that weekend, which will be announced on Facebook and Twitter when the details are set, so stay tuned for more information as it comes out. For lunch, the local Girl Scout troop will be selling snacks and drinks throughout the day and players are welcome to bring food and beverages. Alcohol is not permitted in Livingood Park.
