The first Kubb Match Monday (#KubbMatchMonday) episode comes from the Kubb World Championship (VM) site in Rone, Gotland, Sweden. The Chaska Kubb Club traveled to the island of Gotland one week before the World Championship to play in Pre-World Championship. This was a three-person tournament.

Chaska split into two teams: Chaska Blue and Chaska White. Chaska Blue consisted of Ford Rolfsrud, Phil Dickinson, and John Oman. Chaska White was made up of Jason “J.P.” Larson, Matt Erdman, and Mark Oman. Both teams were knocked down to the consolation bracket by 2017 World Champions Blue/Orange. There they would have to play each other. Chaska White was able to avenge their loss to Blue/Orange and earn themselves a trip to the finals against 2018 VM-favorite Team Gotland.
