The inaugural Virtual World Kubb League is about to get started this coming weekend and 32 players have signed up from seven states and four countries. This week’s Kubb Match Monday video shows how to get started playing virtual-style kubb whether you are in the league or not. Once you play a few games, you will likely get the flow of it and notice how quickly matches move along. Feel free to challenge some of your kubb friends who live far away to a friendly virtual kubb match.
Here are a few things to notice in this video:
- Take a pic of the king toss and send it for comparison.
- Drill all of the kubbs that are in play while you wait to see how many baseline kubbs that your opponent knocked down. This simultaneous play speeds up the game faster than in-person play.
- If your opponent leaves an advantage line, you should pick up the last kubb that you just drilled and place it where your opponent states. They should tell you how far away from the mid-line it is.
- Call your own violations like helicopters, foot faults, penalty kubbs, etc. It will make you better.
