MINNEAPOLIS — It’s Minnesota State Fair time and it’s still prime kubb season, so a group of veteran players in Northeast Minneapolis thought why not combine them. Kubb on a Stick, a new tournament will debut on Aug. 24 at Xcel Field Park. All ages and skills are welcome to form teams of three to six players.

Kubb on a Stick will use U.S. National rules. There will be seven rounds of qualification using the Klassic system for one-game, 25 minute time-limited matches. After lunch, the championship and consolation bracket play will begin.

There will be a built-in one hour lunch break. During that time, check out the food truck at 56 Brewing or Broken Clock Brewing, which are just across the street from the park. Betty Dangers and Pyscho Suzi’s are also nearby.
