U.S. National Junior Kubb Championship

EAU CLAIRE, Wisc. — The sixth annual U.S. National Junior Kubb Championship was held at Eau Claire Soccer Park and welcomed over 40 players on 18 teams. The weather was beautiful; the clear blue Wisconsin sky and warm temperatures made for an amazing day of kubb.

The morning began with some practice followed by a rules explanation and then group play began. After group play, the top eight teams advanced to the championship bracket to play for the championship. In the first semi-final, Math Masters took on The Heat with the Math Masters advancing to the championship match. In the second semi-final Kubbeans took on Teenage Mutant Ninja Kubbers with Kubbeans advancing to take on the Math Masters in the finals

In the finals, Math Masters used great 7 meter play and excellent inkasting to jump to early leads in each game. In the second game, the Math Masters cleared the Kubbeans back line early and then the Kubbeans left an advantage line. The Math Masters were able to clear the field on the next turn and take the 2019 U.S. Junior National Championship!

In the third place game, the Teenage Mutant Ninja Kubbers and The Heat faced off. It was a really close game between two evenly matched teams. The game went back-and-forth for a long time before The Heat were able to finally knock off the Teenage Mutant Ninja Kubbers.
