EAU CLAIRE, Wisc. — The 2019 U.S. National Junior Kubb Championship will be the sixth edition of the largest junior kubb tournament in North America. The junior championship is open to players 12 years old and younger, with each participant receiving a kid kubb pennant, a 2019 U.S. Championship shirt and a Culver’s frozen custard. The tournament takes place on Friday, July 12 and the tournament is expected to bring in between 20 and 24 teams.
Last year, the 24 team tournament was won by Kubboom Jr. from Eau Claire. Each of the top four teams will receive medals Saturday morning on the podium in front of hundreds of players and spectators at the U.S. National Kubb Championship. The tournament will be played with U.S. National Championship Rules with a few exceptions. The pitches will be 5 meters by 7 meters, teams can be two people, and players won’t be able to throw more than two batons in a row. The tournament format will be round-robin with six teams in each group. Matches will be best of three, with a 20 minute time limit per match.
