HUNTERSVILLE, N.C.—The Queen City Kubb Spring Fling is back for a fourth year and will be held May 5, 2018 in Huntersville at Huntersville Athletic Park. The Spring Fling is a two to six person DMK style (five rounds) tournament run by Mike Davids and the Queen City Kubb Club. Last year, the Kubbstaches (Bob Hickes, Jake Leavitt) of Morgantown, Pennsylvania came away with the championship for the second straight year.
This year, they are expecting 16 teams with the top three all receiving awards, along with an award for the top finishing female. Kubb sets for the tournament are provided by Kubbspel Classic and all the pitches will be staked. Pitches open at 7:30 a.m. with a rules demonstration immediately at 8:30 a.m. and qualifying rounds beginning at 9 a.m. Lunch will be available and all proceeds from the lunch and tournament will benefit the Appalachian Service Project.
