HUNTERSVILLE, N.C.—The Queen City Kubb Spring Fling is back for a third year and will be held April 29, 2017 in Huntersville, N.C. at Huntersville Athletic Park. The Spring Fling is a two to three person DMK style (five rounds) tournament run by Mike Davids and the Queen City Kubb Club. Last year the Kubbstaches (Bob Hickes and Jake Leavitt) of Morgantown, Pa. came away with the championship in the nine team tournament.
This year they are expecting 16 teams with the top three all receiving awards, along with an award for the top finishing female. Kubb sets for the tournament are provided by Kubbspel Classic and all the pitches will be staked. Lunch will be available. All proceeds from the lunch and tournament will benefit the Appalachian Service Project.
Mike Davids on what it means to run a tournament in the Southeast:
“We are extremely proud to be part of the growth of kubb here in the Southeast! It’s been exciting to see the new clubs and tournaments start to grow .”
