A new year, and a new calendar full of kubb tournaments. This season kicks off with the Skuffle for the Shovel, a tournament that’s been around since 2016. This 1v1 tournament rarely has snow, but that shouldn’t stop you from trying to get your name on the coveted snow shovel trophy. If anything, a trip to North Carolina could be a nice reprieve from the harsh Midwest winters (or a cool down from the Cali sun?).
Next up is the Loppet in Minneapolis. This one is one of the oldest tournaments in the U.S. (starting in 2011) and often boasts the largest numbers of any outdoor winter tournament in the world. Part of the City of Lakes Loppet Winter Festival, this three-person minimum tournament always brings a great mix of competition and fun. There’s even cash prizes for the podium!
