May is a very busy kubb month. There are tournaments every weekend this month, across three states! Not to mention May 5 is also International Day of Kubb.
Things kick off with the East Coast Kubb Championship. Now in its eighth year and fourth state, this tournament always boasts a competitive, but very fun atmosphere. This year’s tournament is the second to be held in Virginia, and according Stu and Sven, it’s a great spot to throw batons and earn a few Atlantic Kubb Tour points.
Everyone’s invited to the Stoughton Kubb Invitational! This tournament is celebrating its tenth anniversary this year—time really flies. If you’re looking for cool trophies, fun kubb, and a tin of sardines, the Stoughton Kubb Club has you covered.
Often described as a kubb retreat, Phil Dickinson‘s 1v1 tournament has been a staple for many a kubb player over the years. Previously the Great Lakes 1v1 Kubb Championship, it is now known as the U.S. National 1v1 Kubb Championship. This event is a who’s who of kubb titans. You’re sure to run into an All-American or two, but don’t let that scare you. This is a great weekend of kubb and camaraderie for all skill levels.
And last, but not least, is the Brew City Kubb Classic. While it only debuted last spring, it’s already attracting a healthy crowd and great competition. Giant pretzels, solid music, and good people—what more do you need?
You really can’t go wrong with any of these tournaments which offer a good variety of locations and even team sizes. There aren’t any weekends double-booked either, so why not try all four!?
