HAVRE DE GRACE, Md. — Now in its sixth year, the East Coast Kubb Championship returns to Hopkins Farm Brewery in Havre De Grace on June 4. As in years past, this tournament will use the U.S. National rules, with a couple exceptions—the neighbor rule will be in effect, and after field kubbs are raised, players may opt to remove the center pins during the blasting phase. Teams must have a minimum of two players, and no player may throw more than three batons per round.
The format will utilize the Klassic System, with seven rounds of qualifying games. The top 16 teams will be seeded into the Championship Bracket, with any remaining teams placed in the Bronze Bracket. There will also be a Silver Bracket with the eight teams that fall in the first round of the Championship Bracket. All teams will be guaranteed to play at least eight games. The top three finishing teams in each bracket will receive awards.
Food and non-alcoholic beverages are permitted, but all alcohol must be purchased at the host site, Hopkins Farm Brewery. There is a limited amount of tent space that can be set up around the playing area. If you are flying in, the championship providers can help provide coolers, chairs, and tent space. Reach out to eckubbchampionship@gmail.com ahead of time to arrange.
