MADISON, Wisc. — The seventh annual Madison Kubb Tournament returns to Madison’s beautiful Olbrich Park on the Northeast side of Lake Monona on Saturday, June 2, 2018. Last year, the tournament drew 34 teams and they are expecting a similar number this year but registration will be capped to 40 teams so make sure you register now. The tournament format this year is an eight round Klassic style opening with an eight to 16 teams in the championship bracket and everyone else in the consolation bracket. Last year, the event was won by Redemption (Chad Bevers, Darren Finger) over Gorilly United (Dave Giese, Cody Glorioso).
Proceeds from this years event will go to support the Goodman Community Center, an organization that provides programs and services to the community of Madison. The first, second, and third places finishers of the championship bracket, and winner of the consolation bracket, will receive handmade ceramic art trophies from Mitch Sigmund.
Bringing your own picnic lunch or tailgate is encouraged and you are allowed to bring your own beverages, they just ask that you don’t bring anything in glass containers. Open pitches go from 7:30 to 8:30 a.m. with rules and demonstrations starting at 8:30 a.m. The Madison Kubb Tournament will once again be the second event of the Cheddar Curtain Tour.
