CHIPPEWA FALLS, Wisc. — The fourth annual SpringFest Kubb Championship presented by Volume One and Jacob Leinenkugel Brewing Company will once again be held on the grounds of the Northern Wisconsin State Fairgrounds in Chippewa Falls. On Saturday, April 28, teams will compete for monetary prizes.
Registration is limited to 48 teams, and teams must have between three and four players each. All registered players will receive a one-day pass to the SpringFest activities as well as two beverage tickets. Teams will be guaranteed at least four matches during group play. Up to 32 teams will move into best-of-three game matches in the championship bracket, while the remaining teams will compete in one game matches in the consolation bracket.
The U.S. National Kubb Rules will be used with a slight modification. To break ties, teams will each be given six batons to attempt the sure shot—throwing backwards, between the legs, at the king. The team with the most successful sure shots will win the tiebreaker.
Last year’s tournament was won by Damage Incorporated (Darren Finger, Scott Forster, Gregg Jochimsen) of Wisconsin.
