AMANA, Iowa — The 2017 Iowa Games Kolonie Kubb Tournament will be hosted by the Kolonie Kubb Club in Amana on Aug. 26. This is the first year that the event will be held in the Amana Colonies and tournament director Ron Heitmann encourages you to investigate its many attractions. The location of the tournament is the field south of Millstream Brewing Company. This is the third year that the Iowa games will be holding a Kubb Tournament. Last year Los Padres (Chris Hodges, Grant Scott) won the event. The Iowa Games support the Brian Pearson Memorial Scholarship which raises money for two Iowans each year that display citizenship, trustworthiness, respect, responsibility, fairness, caring, perseverance, and sportsmanship.
The tournament will be two to three person teams using the Klassic style. The top eight teams advance to the championship bracket. There is expected to be around 16 teams. Trophies will be awarded to the top three teams in each division (open and co-ed). Kubb Sets are provided by the Kolonie Kubb Club. Athletes will receive a colored T-shirt. Pre-registered athletes have the option to upgrade to a dri-fit shirt for an additional $10.
