CHIPPEWA FALLS, Wisc. —The Leinenkugel’s 150th Anniversary Kubb Tournament will take place Saturday, August 12, 2017 in Chippewa Falls at the Northern Wisconsin State Fairgrounds. This will be a three person tournament directed by Terry Huppert. The cost of registration is $75 per team and the registration includes three passes to the Leinenkugel’s 150th event, which normally costs $20 a piece. One important note about registration is that you must be 21 years old or older to participate because it is a Leinenkugel’s sponsored event They are expecting anywhere from 32 to 48 teams for the event and it will be capped at 48 teams because of the space so it will be import to register early to guarantee your spot in the tournament.
The gates to the grounds and check in for the tournament will begin at 10 a.m., group play will start at 10:30 a.m. Teams will be placed into groups of four and play three best-of-three game matches, the top 16 teams will move on to the championship bracket and the next 16 (17 through 32) will be placed in the consolation bracket. The championship bracket will be best-of-three matches and the consolation will be one game. Both brackets will be single elimination. There will be other events going on all day around the tournament including lots of live music with Collective Soul headlining Saturday night.
